Scooby’s Story

Local Tenterden charity Hypo Hounds’ CEO Jane Pearman is always searching for new and innovative ways to help people understand the importance of the work they carry out.

I had an idea of what I wanted to achieve. A child friendly educational but fun book to help the charity raise funds. I wrote the story and had an artist that did the paintings but just didn’t know where to start. I approached Colyn being a local business and straight away he understood what I wanted. From start to finish Colyn was amazing – his services support and advice is amazing and has not only become someone who I now trust with all the charities marketing and PR campaigns but also a friend. Thank you Colyn for turning dreams into reality xx’

Telling the story

Sophie-Alice has a form of Type 1 Diabetes where she has no awareness of her blood sugars dropping or rising. Her dog Scooby is Hypo Hounds trained to detect both of these and raise the alarm so Sophie can receive the medication she needs.

Jane came to us with the idea of creating a short picture book, similar in size and feel to the Mr Men books, that would tell the story of how Scooby was trained to become a Hypo Hounds hero who now keeps Sophie safe on a regular basis. With the story written and Veronica Pearman’s beautiful illustrations already complete we were happy to put the pieces together and produce the layout for the book.
